Is your data protected?
The fact that your data is on Office 365, does not mean you are fully protected. Microsoft do not offer protection over your data in terms of backups. File versioning can only help if you have enabled and set this up in Sharepoint.
It is important to have backups of your key users if not all your users data.
As with our managed cloud backup services, we also office Microsoft 365 backups through Cove.

Automatically back up Exchange mailboxes, contacts, and calendars up to six times a day
Back up SharePoint and OneDrive
Protect SharePoint sites and permissions, including custom and sub-libraries, as well as OneDrive data and permissions with up to four backups a day.
Control retention and recoverability
Don’t risk data loss when Microsoft 365 accounts are disabled. Retain backups for seven years, even for inactive accounts.
